PCC25 Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission

The abstracts will be reviewed by a team of expert colorectal academic surgeons and editors.

Following last years successful collaboration, the authors of the best 3 poster abstracts will have the opportunity to submit their final manuscript to Annals of Coloproctology (Impact Factor 3.1, https://coloproctol.org/). The studies will have to pass through the standard peer review process, and if accepted, the journal will provide a full APC (Article Processing Charge) waiver (valued at $500).

We will also grant a complimentary registration to one of our courses (valid for 12 months) to both the best poster and video abstract.

Accepted abstracts will be allowed to purchase their tickets at early bird rates.

Abstracts will not be valid unless the presenting author has a valid physical attendance ticket by the 2nd of June.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission to PCC25

Deadline

Friday, May 23rd, 2025, 23:59 GMT.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts are to be submitted in English through the Portsmouth Colorectal Congress website at portsmouthcolorectalcongress.com under the “Abstract” or “Video Abstract” tabs.

Abstract Submission Fee

Submission is free of charge.

Previous or Future Presentation

You are permitted to submit an abstract that will be presented at another national/international meeting either prior to or after the Portsmouth Colorectal Congress 2025. However, novel abstracts are encouraged.

Abstract submission

Once submitted, the Congress Organising Committee will evaluate abstracts for scientific quality and merit. If the abstract is accepted, the authors are invited to submit an ePoster which will be shown during the congress.

In case of a regular abstract submission, participants will need to submit an ePoster after being accepted:

The final ePoster should be provided as a .pdf file before Friday 5th June 2025 23:59 GMT to the following email: portsmouthcolorectalcongress@gmail.com The poster design is up to the authors. However, dimensions should not exceed 95x136cm with an horizontal/landscape disposition. The ePoster should include an abstract number (e.g. PCC25-001) on the upper left edge. A QR code with the presenters’ contact details is encouraged for the Faculty and Guests to contact the authors. In case images are added please see section ”In case of Images/Videos” below.

In Case of Images/Videos

Patients must not be identifiable from a published photograph, image, or video. Masking patients’ eyes is not adequate in making a photograph anonymous, nor is the exclusion of a patient’s head and shoulders in a photograph as the patient may still be recognizable to individuals and their families. Patients can also recognize themselves from clinical descriptions or case reports if their details have not been made sufficiently anonymous.

Abstract publication

All the abstracts and videos will be uploaded on the congress website and made available to all participants attending the Congress. By submitting the abstract, the authors agree for its content to be made available online.

Best Abstract and Video Award

This year the authors of the best 3 poster abstracts will have the opportunity to submit their final manuscript to Annals of Coloproctology (Impact Factor 3.1, https://coloproctol.org/). The studies will have to pass through the standard peer review process, and if accepted, the journal will provide a full APC (Article Processing Charge) waiver (valued at $500). We will also grant a complimentary registration to one of our courses (valid for 12 months) to both the best poster and video abstract.
